Ready for a new DDH Challenge? Our hostess for the next 2 weeks is Paula- Kay and our challenge is paper piecing. I love paper piecing with rubber stamps - but digi's?
Here's how you do it...
I arranged my digi images in Word, scaled the images and saved the file. Before printing the document I marked one corner, so I would know how to load the paper back into the printer. I printed out the images on normal light weight copier paper. Then I taped my patterned paper over the image with tape, choose one easy to remove like painters tape. Loaded it back into the printer - taking note of my marked corner - then printed the document again.
Then I cut out the sweater. I cut out the bee too so I could color and paper piece it. Here are my tools.
I've had lots of questions asking how I cut things out in such fine detail...Mini Kai Scissors - LOVE them! They are razor sharp and you can turn without shreading the cardstock - great for a smooth edge. They have a needle point which is useful, however caution should be used with these scissors.
I colored the bear and the bee. Layered the sweater on the colored image and that is the magic of paper piecing - a great technique!
Isn't it so Beary Sweet?
Supplies -- DDH Beary Sweet; Papers: TAC "Hip Hop" Fly with it collection, Bazzill Beeswax and Great Lakes; Copics: E21, E33, E37, E29, YG11, YG13, B32, B24, Y35, Y38, V09, W1; Mini Kai Scissors.
