Mabelle RO: Valentine's Little Boy

Happy Monday!

I have a Mabelle RO image to show today.  This is Valentine's Little Boy.  I have been thinking about this little boy for awhile.  When I got this awesome new digi paper called Layton it all came together.

I LOVE the colors of Layton. It is new and available through an esty site called Hello That's Fabulous. Mischelle has some awesome digis as well. I'm hoping to add some of them to my collection soon.  Here is what the collection looks like - 9 patterns plus tags!

I pulled all the colors from the papers and added red for a punch of color.  When I was coloring this image - Mark said is that me giving you flowers?  Aww - how sweet.  I was thinking the same thing.
Supplies -- MRO Valentine's Little Boy, "with love" sentinment from TAC For My Tweetie, Cardstock: Bazzill Crimson and Flintstone, PTI Ripe Avocado, Copic X-Press It, Digi paper Layton, Copic markers.

Copic Colors: E00, E11, E13, E21, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, R35, R37, R59, BG10, BG53, YG93, YG95, YG97, T2, T4, T5.

PaperTrey Ink: Willow

Today, I have a card using more new stamps.  The willow tree is a PTI set called Willow and the sentiment is from the Clear Dollar Stamps set I used last week Tag Blessings.

The set Willow is actually a sympathy set and I did make some cards using those sentiments.  It is always good to have a sympathy card around.  The sentiments from Tag Blessings are wonderful too, lots of possibilities for all occasions.  My stitching was the best on the one, so this is the one I picked to show.
I added an eyelet and threaded the ribbon through it and tied a bow. The image is popped on the light green stitched layer.

All the cardstock is from PTI.  The image is stamped on Fine Linen cardstock.  The base card is also Fine Linen.  The light green is Spring Moss and the darker is Ripe Avocado.

I've found that pigment inks work best for me with clear stamps.  I used VersaMagic ink again this week.  The colors are Hint of Pesto and Jumbo Java.  The ink does stain the stamp but the stamped image is nice.  When there is fine detail like the stitches in the image I used last week the ink can build up and pool if you are stamping a stack of cards without cleaning. I stamped 12 images and the last 2 were not perfect.  The stamps I used this week I had no problems with.

Supplies -- PTI Willow, Clear Dollar Stamps Tag Blessings, PTI Fine Linen, Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado cardstock, VersaMagic Hint of Pesto and Jumbo Java, Antique Copper eyelet, Ribbon, Sewing machine with cream thread.

Homebound Ministry: God's Presence

Happy Sunday!

Today, I have a card made with some new stamps.  This is my January card for the homebound ministry.  A card I hope the recipients will find encouraging.

I've found a couple new websites with Christian stamps over the last few months.  PaperTrey Ink is one of my favorite sites.  I love their cardstock, beautiful colors and heavy weight at great prices.  Love their dies too.  I decided to try some of their stamps.  Their stamps are clear.  The stitched background is a PTI set, Stitches and Swirls, one of my new favorites. I think I'm going to be using it a lot.
The other new website I found is Clear Dollar Stamps. They also have clear stamps.  I used 2 sets for this card Tag Blessings and God's Presence inside.

I did not take a picture of the inside but this is what it says...

Supplies -- Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps Tag Blessings, God's Presence (inside), PTI Stitches and Swirls;  Cardstock: PTI White, PTI Aqua Mist, PTI Ocean Tides; Inks: VersaMagic Oasis Green; White Organza ribbon; Nestabilities Circles Lacey.

Mabelle RO: Lucy's Valentine

Happy Monday!

It is Mabelle RO Monday once again.  This week, I have a furry image to enter into Christine's coloring challenge.  I'm featuring "Lucy's Valentine" and non-traditional colors.

My inspiration was the patterned paper, Fancy Pants "Beach Bum" (retired - may be on clearance somewhere online) to tie in with Lucy's cute dress.
To simulate fur, I like to use a "dot method" seen best on the arms.  I layer dots of dark and light browns with the 0 Copic marker to create the look of texture, depth and dimension.

I used a large scallop edge die from PTI to mimic the red trim on Lucy's dress.

Copic Colors: Y32, Y35, Y38, B41, B45, R32, R35, R37, R46, G20, YG23, YG63, E31, E33, E35, 0

Supplies -- Mabelle RO "Lucy's Valentine", Fancy Pants "Beach Bum", Bazzill Loganberry Pie, PTI Pure Poppy, Copic XPress-It cardstock, PTI Large scallop die, Copic Markers, Sewing Machine

Christine's Coloring Challenge Details

1) You must color an image that has fur and use it on your project {use a non-traditional color combo like I did and share your tip}. You can make a card, a poster, or you can alter something--basically I don't care what you make for your project as long as you have a colored image on it. You DO NOT have to use Copics, you can use anything you want to use to color.

2) If you use a Mabelle RO Whimsy and Stars Studio digital, you will be entered twice in the random drawing.

3) Bonus, post my challenge on your blog or facebook to get your name entered a third time.

This challenge ends Friday, January 20th.

Mabelle RO: Angel Heart

Happy Monday!

It is Mabelle RO Monday. Today I'm featuring "Angel Heart" a new release in her Valentine/Love digi line.

I used non-traditional colors {for a Valentine}, because I think this image is so much more than just a Valentine.  This card is for my niece's birthday, which was yesterday January 8th.

I love the rich colors of Crate Paper "Farmhouse".  I chose this patterned paper because of the shape of the flowers.  How amazing that they match the flower on the angel's hat!  I knew I had to use this paper.

The buttons (PTI) are 4 hole buttons so I strung the 3 buttons together using 2 of the holes.  I used a short piece of button twine (PTI) and the 2 open button holes and tied the knot.  Then wrapped the twine around a few times.

Supplies -- Mabelle RO digi "Angel Heart", Crate Paper "Farmhouse", PTI Terracotta Tile, Aqua Mist and Lemon Tart, XPress-It cardstock, PTI vintage buttons and rustic button twine, Copic Markers, Sewing Machine.

Copic Colors: BG10, BG15, BG18, YR15, YR18, YR30, R02, R32, R35, R37, E00, E11, E13, E21, E33, E35, E37

I took a little break from stamping in December, packed up everything that is usually sitting out in the kitchen for the Christmas and New Year holiday.  I thought for sure I would feel inspired when I was on vacation, but all I was inspired to do was clean out cupboards and closets - a good thing.

I have lots of stamps, cardstock, patterned paper, some tools, dies and accessories for sale.  So if you live close and are interested drop me an e-mail.  I have everything laid out in the sunroom, priced to sell and ready to go to a new home.

Challenge Alert!

My friend, Christine is having a fun Coloring Challenge over at her blog - and there is blog candy!  You need to color an image that has fur and use non-traditional colors.  If you use a Mabelle RO digi you are entered in the drawing twice!  Post to Facebook to be entered a 3rd time.  Hope you play along!  The challenge is open until January 20th at 6 pm (CST).

I will post my entry next Monday...missed the "fur" part of the challenge.  Good thing this challenge is running 2 weeks!

Thanks for stopping by!
