Raisin Boat - Lawn King 2

Hi All,

I made a birthday card today for my dad.  He will be 89 on Saturday and one of the things he still likes {and is able} to do is cut the lawn on his riding lawn mower.  I actually bought this Raisin Boat stamp set "Lawn King" specifically to make his birthday card this year.

Raisin Boat is having another challenge; Birthday cards is the theme.  A great reminder to make a card with this set, for my dad.

I haven't been feeling very inspired lately, so when this happens I look at this weeks sketch challenges.  I found a sketch I liked on the Sketch Saturday blog.  Here is the sketch I used for today's card inspiration.
I flipped the scallop element up on my card.

Red Rubber Designs: Mini Album

Keeping with the June Scrapbooking theme at Red Rubber Designs, my project this month is a mini album.  I used the new release "Reinforcers" as the closure, with an eyelet (Hemmigway) and tan scrappers floss.

The mini album is 4.5" x 3.25".  The burnt orange cardstock (Penelope/Sydney Cardstock) is scored at 2.5", 2.75", 6.25" and 6.5".  The patterned cardstock is Penelope.
Inside is the photo album, the pictures are from my trip to Three Lakes, WI at the end of May over my birthday.  This was the sunset over the lake on my birthday.
The album is a fold out accordion.  The pictures were printed 2.5 x 3".  The base of the pull out is 2 pieces of Kraft cardstock, 4 x 9.75".  I scored both pieces of Kraft cardstock at 3.25" and 6.5" - creating three 3.25" panels.
I matted the pictures with Penelope/Sydney Cardstock and patterned cardstock from Penelope.  Between the pictures, I stamped the "Here I Am" background with embossing ink, for a watermark.  Then added some "Punctuation" and a quote from "Be Happiness".
I joined the 2 pieces of Kraft cardstock at this second picture.  I stamped the scripture verse and bee from "Give Him Praise" in Memento black ink, so I could add some color with Copic Markers (B21, B60, YR21, YR23, N3, N5).  With embossing ink, I added the heart from "I Heart You" and borders from "Background Soup".
Hope you enjoyed this months project.  I think it would be a great gift for grandma with pictures of the grandchildren.  The possibilities are endless.

Supplies --

On a sad note - this my last post for the Red Rubber Design team.  I had to step down.  I just have too many irons in the fire.  I could not realistically keep up the pace with working full time, church committees and 3 design teams.
