Fun Stampers Journey - Lakeside Birthday 2

 Happy Saturday!

Today, I second card to share using several retired stamps from Fun Stampers Journey "Lakeside".  The image is colored with Copic markers.   

I also used a couple background stamps.  FSJ "Script" background, I stamped on the PTI Spring Rain cardstock with Spring Rain ink.  On the PTI Chocolate cardstock I stamped the fishnet background from FSJ "Background Basics 2".

The Happy birthday is from PTI Birthday III Stamp set.  I had some cord twine laying on my desk, which I knotted and added to the front to finish the card.

Fun Stampers Journey - Lakeside Birthday

Today, I have a couple masculine birthday cards to share.  I used several retired stamps from Fun Stampers Journey, the main images are from FSJ "Lakeside".  The image is created with 3 separate stamps, the rocks and grasses in the forefront are separate stamps, and it is colored with Copic markers.   

I also used a couple background stamps.  FSJ "Script" background, I stamped on the PTI Spring Rain cardstock with Spring Rain ink.  On the PTI Chocolate cardstock I stamped the fishnet background from FSJ "Background Basics 2".

PTI: Four Square & Tagged Sentiment Birthday

Happy Saturday,

Today, I have a simple masculine birthday card using a PaperTrey Ink stamp sets called Four Square, on clearance for $5.00 and Tagged Sentiments on clearance for $3.00.  I stamped the herringbone pattern with PTI Spring Rain ink, then the sentiment in PTI Pure Black and PTI Enchanted Evening ink.  I cut the sentiment in black with a circle die and cut the dark blue image in a banner.

The patterned paper was from My Favorite Things Black & White Plaid, mounted on PTI Spring Rain cardstock.  The base card is PTI Smokey Shadow. I found some gray ribbon to finish the card.

Unity - What a Buck Birthday

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a masculine birthday card to share using a stamp from Unity called "What a Buck".  I paired it will PaperTrey Ink patterned papers called "3-piece suit" and cardstock Dark Chocolate, Kraft and Vintage Cream.  

The layered die is a really old one from Clear Dollar Stamps - Designer Label set of 3.  I'm not sure where or when I bought it, possibly a craft show over 10 years ago.  I think it really dressed up this card with the layers and eyelets.  

The sentiment is from My favorite Things - Itty Bitty Birthday.  I inked the edges of the stamped image and sentiment label with PTI inks Honey Nut and Dark Chocolate.

Unity Stamps - All Cylinders Birthday

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a birthday card to share using a stamp set from Unity Stamps - "All Cylinders" and happy birthday sentiment is from Papertrey Ink "Think Big Favorites #24".

It was a fun stamp to color with Copic markers: B41, B52, B60, W5, W7, YR23.  I also got out my metallic paints for the trim on the car.

Spellbinders - Nature Grown - Birthday

 
Happy Saturday,

Today I have a birthday card to share.  It uses a Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey set "Nature Grown" I bought last year.  It think this is a very versatile set, great for any occasion - birthday to sympathy.

I made a birthday card, which I plan to give to the guys on my birthday card this year.  The tree and sentiment is stamped in PTI Dark Chocolate ink.  The turquoise Ombre background is PTI Stormy Seas and Ocean Tide ink applied with blending brushes I found on Amazon for around $10, love the different sizes.

Spellbinders - Nature Grown - Congratulations

Happy Saturday,

Today, I have a second card I made using Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey - "Nature Grown".  This one is a Congratulations card I made for my brother-in law who accepted a new job in Georgia and will be leaving the snowy midwest.  

I used the color combination, Kraft, Fine Linen and Ocean Tides.  The snow is sparkly fluff which is adhered with glue.  I used a glue pen where I wanted snow under the trees and like embossing powder applied the fluff.  No heat set needed just press in the fluff and tap off the excess and allow to dry.

The sentiment is from Avery Elle "Loads of Wishes", a great greeting set which has just about every sentiment you might need.  I made a couple congratulations and a birthday card too.

Stampin' UP - All Geared Up Birthday

Happy Saturday!

Today I have a masculine birthday card to share.  A friends had a Stampin' UP party and I ordered a few things.  This card uses the All Geared Up Garage bundle, which was the stamp set with coordinating dies plus gear dies.

I used Bazzill metallic bronze cardstock for the gear die cut.  The muscle car was stamped with Memento black, colored with Copic markers and cut out with my Brother Scan N Cut.

There was an oil spill or smudge stamp which I used VersaMark watermark ink on both the PTI Smokey Shadow base card and the PTI Kraft banner.  Then stamped a few nuts and the "All Geared Up to Celebrate" sentiment in Black Memento Ink.

I actually bought this stamp set to use with this sketch.  I rotated the sketch clockwise 90 degrees.  I even managed to find my distressing inks and edge distressing tool.  Haven't made a distressed card is quite some time.  

 

Added some twine across the corner and popped the airplane, which was stamped in Flintstone cardstock with Memento black ink.

I created a baseball themed card for Mark this year.  We both love baseball, our second date was a baseball game :)  With baseball in mind, I used a diamond rather than the hexagon shown in the sketch.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #267

There is a new sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday.  I have the Father's Day card I sent my dad this year.  It would be a great masculine birthday card too.

The image I used today is from Our Daily Bread "The Waves on the Sea", which was part of the May release.  I also used the Fishing net background which was part of a Fishing Bundle.  This card was pretty straight forward, I did manipulate the sketch a bit - shortening it. 

To create the sun, I used one of the peel off papers from a pop dot, believe it or not.  I find them all over the house - LOL.  I used some repositionable adhesive to place it in the sky.  Then, I used a blender fluid and Q-tip technique, to color the sun, sky and sea.  You soak the Q-tip with blender fluid and go over the sky.  Then add a drop of reinker to the other side of the Q-tip and create a nice soft wash of color.  The sun is YR21 and YR23.  The sky is BG10, sadly perhaps a bit subtle for my camera.

LMM - Bandit Boy Gavin in Winter

We have a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet after a little break for Christmas.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is everyone's favorite - Anything Goes!  

There wasn't a new release last week, however Barbara did find some time a couple weeks ago to add this cutie.  This is Bandit Boy Gavin in Winter, the latest addition to the Operation Tree House Collection.  It was a really fun image to color.

I used a sketch this week.  I'm so sad this is the last sketch challenge for I{heart}sketches - it was a good one and a challenge for me.  I'm more comfortable with straight lines, so the 3 skewed background pieces were something new for me to try.  I like it!

Fancy Pants - Little Sport

Just a quick post today and a really quick birthday card idea too!  I used a new paper by Fancy Pants - Little Sport.  Our brother in law is a big baseball fan, so I thought this paper was really perfect for his birthday card.

Red Rubber Designs: Father's Day

The theme this week at Red Rubber Designs is Father's Day.  The stamp set I used today is Mountain Scenery and patterned cardstock is Willoughby.

I tried a new {to me} Copic technique this week.  Can you tell something is different?  I stamped the image with London Fog Memento Ink rather than standard black.  It definitely gives the look of a painting, rather than an outline colored in - don't you think?   

I used 2 of the images from Mountain Scenery, the mountain range and added the small open tree on the left for more forest foliage.  Then, I colored the image adding the greens, browns, blues and violets to the gray stamped image.  Copic Colors: E33, E37, B41, BV23, BV31, BG70, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, W1, W2, W3.  The top of the hill looks like I added something to it to make it look like moss, but it is just the ink build up, the cardstock is fully saturated. 

The colored image is matted with brown cardstock.  Then, added it to the layered patterned cardstock on the brown base card.  The Father's Day sentiment is from Contemporary Greetings and stamped with Burnt Umber Palette Ink on a die cut tag from the Willoughby collection.  This tag has a wide slit perfect for a ribbon.  Since Willoughy is a white core cardstock I ran the side of a brown marker around the edges of the tag so the white edge would be covered.
