TAC August Blog Hop ~ Stamping on Fabric

Ready for a Hop?

This month the theme was really challenging for me because I've never done it - Stamping on Fabric.  I did some research and found some great videos on youtube.  I even found one of Mischelle's videos.  The set I used is He Created Spring a Mabelle RO set and I "fabric-pieced" her dress.

The fabric I used is actually a 100% cotton bandana I found in the craft section at WalMart for a $1.  I was having a hard time finding muslin...well not that I was looking that hard.  Turns out the WalMart I stopped at on my way home from work did not sell fabric.  {sigh} Oh well.  This bandana did OK and it was only $1.

Palette inks work great if you are using solid stamp images or coloring with watercolor pencil. I wanted to try Copics - so I used Mementos black ink and heat set it.  I colored very lightly staying away from the lines a bit so the ink did not bleed past the line, then heat set to further prevent bleeding. This technique worked pretty well.  It took me several trys - only 10.
Supplies -- Stamps: He Created Spring, These are the Days (Happy Birthday), Papers: Raspberry Splash, Strawberry Splash, Caboodles Copic Cardstock, Copics [RV21, RV29, YR21, YR23, YR24, E21, E13], Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, VersaMark ink, Nestabilities #17 die.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Abundant Blessings,
Deb
