Little Miss Muffet: Cadrian

There is a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet - the theme is Sparkle.  I used Cadrian which was released earlier in June.

The patterned papers are from BoBunny Alora, all 3 patterns are from this paper pad.
I just love this image, her face is so pretty.  I added sparkle to her hair, dress and wings using a Spica Clear pen.  It is subtle but very sparkly at the right angle.  Sparkle is really hard to photograph.

The layout was inspired by Monday Mojo 241 sketch.

RRD: Gratitude to God

This week, I have some more ideas to get more out of your punches, another layered flower and a banner.  I used Kaleidoscope Brites cardstock again this week.
I used the 1-1/4 and 1-3/4" Flower Punch
again this week.
This time I cut the flowers into 6 petals.
I gently formed the petals to give them some dimension.
I used a large glue dot and placed the larger petals
on the glue dot, leaving gaps between the petals.
Then added the second layer of smaller petals.
Then I added a button to the center of the flower.
To make the banner, I used a 1-3/4 square punch.
I added a paper ruler to my punch to make sure
it is even and centered when I punch.
When the corners are at equal lengths on the ruler
the cut will be centered and even on either side.
 Here is the punched banner.
I added the sentiment "Gratitude to God" on vellum.  It has been a long time {many years} since I've used vellum.  The vellum RRD carries is absolutely perfect for stamping.  The sentiment came out perfect.  It is crisp and clear and sheerness of the vellum does not weigh down the piece.
I added some Mia's Cottage ribbon and
the flower to the banner.
  The finished page.

Red Rubber Designs: Be Happiness

Today, I have a some scrapbook embellishments to show using stamps and punches.  I saw this double punch technique with a scalloped punch on Pinterest and decided to try it with some flower punches.  It is a really clever technique to get more shapes out of one punch.  Gotta love that!
I used the 2 six petal flower punches (1-1/4" and 1-3/4"
 I punched the 2 flowers.
Then created a handle with some cardstock scraps,
so I could hold the flower in the punch.
Then, I rotated the flower so the petal would be divided
in half and punched a second time.
Now I have 2 twelve petal flowers.
I punched a 5/8" hole in the the center of the smaller flower.
Then, layered the smaller flower on the larger with pop dots and added a button in the center.  {I think it looks a lot like a straw flower or daffodil}
Next to create the pocket, I used a coin envelope and cut the top so it was open.  I added some Kaleidoscope Brites cardstock to the pocket.
I added a finger grab for the card that slides in the pocket
The pull out card is 2-1/8 x 4" and I rounded the corners
using the Corner Chomper.
I added the flower to the card with a pop dot
and some Mia's Cottage ribbon to the pocket.
Using Black Palette ink, I stamped
a sentiment from "Be Happiness" on the card.
  Here is the finished page.
With the card out of the pocket.

Monday Inspiration: Card Ministry

Looking for my Little Miss Muffet Lil' Kitty post?
You can find it HERE

Happy Monday!

I have some really simple card ideas today.  The card above is the card I made for the homebound ministry this month.  This is a photograph I took Saturday of my roses.  They are amazing this year.  It must have been the warm March because every inch of the vine is covered with what look like bouquets of roses.  They have never bloomed like this.

I printed the picture out on textured cardstock - Bazzill (canvas).  Love this technique - makes it look like a painting.
I added a vellum die cut (Nestabilities Labels 4) with the verse from RRD "Give Praise to Him".  Then, I stitched around the perimeter.  The base card is Bazzill Raspberry Splash.
 -----------------
The next set of cards uses the same technique of printing photographs onto Bazzill (canvas) textured cardstock.  These are all pictures I took while up North in Three Lakes, WI at the end of May.  Some friends from church have a cabin there and we were extremely fortunate to be able to stay there for a few days.

I made this set of cards as a Thank You gift for our friends.  They loved them.  All the pictures are taken on their property.  I left them blank inside so they could use them for any occasion.

They are all simply matted - really a quick cards.

Hope you enjoyed today's post.

Little Miss Muffet: Patriotic Horse

Happy Thursday!

We have a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet today - Loads of Layers.  I used an image from the Snugly Giftables collection called Patriotic Horse.  I was waiting until a bit before July 4th to use this one, so this seemed like the perfect time.  This collection has lots of holiday images and is offered as a set for a reduced price.
The designer paper is Simple Stories "Summer Fresh"; it has a great color palette. The chevron pattern is part of one of the patterned papers in this paper pack.  {The majority of the patterns in the chevron are full sheets, so you could technically make this a patchwork pattern like this.}  I cut it out and layered it on red cardstock and then on the Navy base card.

My loads of layers is mostly in the image.  I printed the image twice and layered it to create some depth.  The flag in on the base layer.  It is blank so you can create your own flag.  I created an altered American flag.  I just drew it in with pencil first and then colored it in with Copic markers.  The star I cut out of the candle on the base image since I would be covering it.

The candles, cowboy hat and flag pole are on the next layer, although all pieced on the base image separately.  The third and last layer is the horse, which I popped.

So, I have 3 layers on the base card {not counting the ribbon and button - do they count?} and 3 more layers on the image.

RRD: Give Praise To Him

Hi All,

Today, I have a scrapbook page to share.  I used the new release "Give Praise To Him" and the patterned cardstock Willoughby.

The pictures from our trip to Tennessee at the end of April.  Diane and Mom picked up up at the Nashville airport then we stopped at Cheekwood to see the botanical gardens, have lunch and then tour the art museum on the property.

The mansion was the home of Leslie Cheek Sr. and Mabel Wood.  The Cheek family started Maxwell House Coffee.  Sadly, Mr Cheek died in 1935, 2 years after the family moved in.  In 1960, Cheekwood was opened to the pubic as a fine art center and botanical garden.

These pictures were taken on the terrace off the second floor ballroom, somewhat a panoramic view of the private garden.  It was stunning.
The ribbon is from the Willoughby collection.  I used Burnt Umber Palette ink to stamp the tree on the Kraft die cut (Label 16).  The Cheekwood logo was from the tour brochure.

A couple more picture of lunch at Cheekwood - it was SO good...
