Sketch Saturday Challenge #266

We have a new challenge at Sketch Saturday.  It is also the 1st Saturday in the month, so that means the challenge is hosted by a DT member...it is Alex's week.

Alex organized a fabulous sponsor this week:
Our prize this week is a $5 Sassy Cheryl gift coupon.

Alex also created the sketch for this week.  Here is Sketch #266:
We were given an Sassy Cheryl image to work with too.  I chose Quiet Inspiration.  Isn't she the sweetest.  She looks just like my friends little girl, so this will be her birthday card this year.  I found the most perfect patterned paper - My Mind's Eye "Sweet Girl".

Supplies Card 1 --
Image: Sassy Cheryl's Stamp "Quiet Inspiration"
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye "Sweet Girl"
Cardstock: PTI Sweet Blush, Limeade Ice
Sewing machine with white thread
Punches: 1" circle and flower
Die cut: PTI medium scallop
Copic Colors: E00, E11, E13, E21, R02, RV10, RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29, YG01, YG21, G40, BG000, BG10, BG53, YR21, YR23, YR24, YR61, YR65, 0

I made a second card using the sketch, a baby card for a couple at church.  I used a variety of products on this one.  One of the best things about this design team - using all the things that have been sitting around awhile.
It is kind of a fussy card...only took me a couple days to make it - LOL.  I kept changing directions with it.  The image is a Nina B set "Sending you Sunshine" available at The Crafts Meow.
I ended up stamping the image on some A|Muse cloud paper.  I used 2 A|Muse dies, the grass and pinking border.  I have 3 layers of grass.  I colored, cut and pieced all the colored elements.

The stripe paper and paper used for the grass is MRO Mia's Cottage - a paper I've been hoarding.  I cut what I thought was my last full sheet of the stripe paper to make this card.  Believe me I paused a moment before I did it...but cut it.  Then last weekend, while cleaning the craftroom {which is a bedroom} so guests could stay, I discovered 25 full unopened packs of Mia's Cottage.  I guess there is no reason not to use the paper now!  The things you find when you clean - LOL!

Supplies Card 2 --
Stamp:  Nina B "Sending you Sunshine" available at The Crafts Meow
Patterned Cardstock: Mabelle RO Mia's Cottage and ribbon (TAC)
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock:  Bazzill Ocean Blue, Berry Sensation, Tangelo Blast
Dies: A|Muse Grass and pinking borders
Copic Colors: E33, E35, E37, E29, YG11, YG13, YG25, YG91, YG93, RV12, RV14, RV09, Y13, Y17, YR61, YR65, B41, B45.

  12. For your first card you've used a really sweet image. I really like the effect of the yellow you've used to make the panels for the image and DP - it makes this card even more summery and cheerful!
Your second card has a fantastic color scheme. You've done such a great job coloring the image, and I love the striped, colorful DP! Cute!
