I'm so excited - I'm hosting Sketch Saturday this week! The sponsor is Mabelle RO from Whimsy and Stars Studios and she is generously offering 4 MRO digis to one lucky participant in this week's challenge.
Also, our guest designer this month is my friend Laura - Yay! I love her clean style and beautiful coloring.
This is what I was thinking when I created the sketch. Mainly the center panel being recessed and embossed - or maybe a patterned paper that is stitched around the perimeter. I went the recessed and embossed route, to make the layered frame I used my Cricut mini.
Mabelle generously offered the design team some Fall images to work with. I was thrilled to see "It's Fall" back in her shop - one of my many favorites.
I thought adding a woodgrain to the letters would be a great detail. I thought about paper-piecing the letters with woodgrain paper. In the end, I opted to print the image twice, color the letters then stamp with a woodgrain background stamp from A|Muse Studios. I cut the stamped letters out and paper-pieced them on the colored image.
