Arteza Watercolor - By the Seaside

Happy Saturday!

Back in October, I bought Arteza watercolor pens with grand plans to try them out over the Christmas-New Years break from work.  That didn't happen, however I found a weekend in February to try them out.  If you haven't seen the videos on Facebook, here is one, they looked so fun and easy and they actually were!  They have real brush tip with the watercolor pigment in the barrel, like a marker.  Apply full color to the page or dip in water or wet your water color paper to create the water color effect and to blend.

I found an un-used Joann's gift card in January, so I decide to get some new stamps.  This one was picked out for this Arteza watercolor pen experiment.  The rubber stamp from France, Carabelle Studio "En Bord de Mer" (By the Seaside).

I was kind of blown away by how easy and well these Real brush pens worked.  I used Tim Holtz water color paper and used my We R Memory Makers Precision Press and Memento Black ink to stamp the image.

The base card is 5 x 7 so a larger card than I usually make.  It is a large stamp.  The precision press allowed me to re-ink and re-stamp, since the water color paper is textured.  So hard to get a full image on the first try.  I made several cards, some with the stamped image on the smoother side of the water color paper and a couple on the textured side.  The image I'm showing today is stamped on the smooth side of the watercolor paper.

Farm Fresh Take 2

Happy Saturday!

A few months ago, I made a card with a PaperTrey Ink stamp set "On the Farm".  Today, I have a landscape version of the 1st card and dressed up it up a bit.

I created this card with PTI inks Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Americana and True Black.  PaperTrey Ink Cardstock is PTI White, Smokey Shadow and Americana.  I added some vellum, cut with a stitched die and cotton twine to dress it up.

This card I made a birthday card for my friend's mom, who turned 90 on Wednesday!  Roni had an awesome and huge garden, corn, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, beans ... any type of vegetable you could think of, which she shared with friends and family.  All through high school and college, quite often I would bring home fresh vegetables to my mom.  It is a great memory and very much appreciated then and even more now as I reflect on her generosity and vibrant go-go-go spirit.  She is still on the go even at 90.  Happy Birthday Roni!
