Encouragement and Sympathy

Today, I have the May encouragement card for my homebound ministry.  I used a mix of stamps.  The verse is from Verve Stamps "Psalm 121:1-2" and the Damask pattern was an Angel Company set.
The second card is a sympathy card I created last weekend.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The sentiment is TAC Contemporary Greetings.  I added some pearl accents and crinkle ribbon bow.
The third card is another sympathy card like the first.  I used TAC Damask and With Sympathy sentiment.  I added some gem accents on this one.

Catered Crop Top 12 Challenge

Top 12 for 2012
Hello All,

I ran across a challenge today at Catered Crop - the challenge is to pick your top 12 creations for 2012.

I had wanted to do this at the beginning of the year, several of the blogs I follow did something like this at the end of the December or on January 1st.  Some chose cards they made themselves, other blogs chose cards made by other cardmakers in the past year - both fabulous ideas.  I felt like I missed my opportunity though - until I ran across this challenge.  I guess it's not too late.

Anyway, the challenge is to choose your top 12 cards from 2012 so here goes...
January 2012 - Mischelle Smith Designs "Cheer Up"
Mixed coloring method - colored with Copics
blue chalk background, sponged ink distressing

February 2012 - Mischelle Smith Designs "Must Be Love"
 My sweet husband's 2012 Valentine

March 2012 - Little Miss Muffet "Agent Cupcake Descending"
My debut card for Little Miss Muffet, still love the twine rope.
April 2012 - TAC "New Creation"
 Lots of stitching and layering

May 2012 - TAC "America I Love"
Love the mix of dry embossing on this one, then inked over it.

June 2012 - TAC "Liberty and Ancient Map"
I had these stamps for over 8 years
and finally used the background in 2012!

A great technique I saw on a blog -
a printed picture on canvas textured cardstock.
My roses were beautiful in 2012.

July 2012 - Raisin Boat "Lawn King"
Fun with a grass die cut

 August 2012 - Nina B "Stitched Flowers"
One of my favorite techniques - Paper Piecing

September 2012 - Mabelle RO "Sweet as Pie"
Clean and Simple

October 2012 - Mabelle RO "Blessed Harvest"
This card just fell together,
practically by itself, when I saw the sketch.

November 2012 - Die-Namics Sunflower
These dies are so cool!

December 2012 - Little Miss Muffet "Gavin in Winter"
 Great sketch with skewed elements
which pushed me away of my norm (straight lines).

I tried to pick my favorite card from each month - it was really hard to narrow it down.  In the end, I chose creations that had a neat technique, I tried something new or there was something clever about them.   I ended up with 13 - oops.

I would love to see your top cards from 2012.  You have until February 2nd to get a blog post or a picture gallery together.  See the details HERE - there's loads of inspiration for 2013 all in one place!

Hope you are inspired!

Die-Namics - Sunflower

Today is my mother-in-law's birthday and this is her birthday card.  The sunflower is a new die from Die-Namics.  The flourishes are also a die.

This card is inspired by one I saw on Karen's blog, which I thought was just stunning.  I ended up buying these dies because I loved the card.   Mine is a simplified version.
This sunflower die cuts and embosses - love that.

Mabelle RO: Silly Candy Corn

Happy Monday!

Today, I have really simple treat box and I used a Mabelle RO image - Silly Candy Corn as an accent.

This would be a sweet treat at the Thanksgiving dinner table, wouldn't it?
I have to admit, I got this candy from the after Halloween clearance cart at the grocery store Friday night.  The name on the bag was {Brachs  brand} "Indian Corn" - never seen this color combination before - but I think it would be perfect for Thanksgiving.  The flavor is chocolate and honey.

The colors were taken from the candy corn.  Copic Colors: YR61, YR65, YR68, E02, E30, E31, E35, E37, E47, 0

Challenges:
Pause Dream Enjoy - Orange and Brown
Raise the Bar - Anything Goes
