Electrical Birthday

 Happy Saturday!

Today I have a birthday card I made for my friend's husband who is an Electrical Engineer.  I could not resist when I saw this circuit board 3D embossing folder by Tim Holtz.  I had to get it.  I embossed a piece of PaperTrey Ink Blueberry Sky cardstock then used a dark gray Copic marker (W7) to color the surface mounted elements.  With a Artistro gold paint pen I colored the electrical traces and vias.

I matted the circuit board with gold cardstock and added a die cut happy birthday sentiment from Memory Box.

A pretty quick birthday card.

Unity - Someone Left the Gate Open

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law, who I found out over Christmas loves cows.  I saw this image from Unity - Someone Left the Gate Open and had to get it.  I think is a really fun image and was on sale.

I stamped the cow image on the PTI Vintage Cream base card and also on white cardstock.  The image stamped on white cardstock was colored with Copic markers.  I extended the neck of the cow image slightly, maybe 1/4".

I fussy cut the colored image cutting off the whiskers and adhered it to the base card which was stamped also to show the whiskers.  Then, added some weathered barnwood patterned paper to create a wall for the cow to look over, with sentiment sign and black cardstock trim.

I saw a card sample on Unity's website with the cow image looking out the barn door which was the inspiration for this card.

Copic colors:
0, E50, E51, W0, W1, W2, W3, N7, YR01

This card just makes me smile.

Unity - Nature's Escape Birthday

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a birthday card using Unity "Nature's Escape" which was a stamp of the month in June 2024.  Took my quite awhile to use it, I had a subscription in 2024 and I still have a few from that year to ink up.  I stamped the image on white cardstock with Memento Ink.  The image seemed daunting to color at first.  I used Copic markers.  I was pleasantly surprised how this card turned out.

I used some PTI Kraft ink and a blending brush to age the edges of the colored image and sentiment.  To add some texture, I used a woodgrain embossing folder and Chocolate cardstock for the panel to mount the image and sentiment.

I was looking through my stash of brads, looking for something like a screw head brad and found this brad with a loop.  I forgot about these, added some twine to the loop on the brad and knotted the ends.  The perfect embellishment.

Copic Colors: YR23, YR68, R46, R59, B12, B16, B21,
YG13, YG17, YG67, E31, E33, E35, E37 and 0 for blending.

Cardstock: PaperTrey Ink White, Kraft, Chocolate

Embossing folder: Big Shot Pinewood Plank

Embellishment: Brad with loop and twine

Unity Simple Little Wishes

 Happy Saturday!

Today is day 6 of my 2025 Christmas creations.

The postage stamp die cut is from Unity.  I cut PTI White cardstock with the die.  The stamp set is from Unity Stamps - Simple Little Wishes, which I stamped with Black Memento ink on the die cut and colored with Copic markers.  I gave it a vintage look using PTI Kraft ink and a blending brush, inking the edges.  I added a bit of Copic white paint to the red bulb on the tree.  I love this nostalgic image.

The patterned papers were from a Michaels 12x12 Christmas paper pad from 10-15 years ago.  One thing I have been trying to do the last couple years is to use what I have for Christmas cards.  This means creating more designs; last year I believe I had 7 designs, this year 9 card designs!

I ran the Kraft ink pad over the edges of the patterned papers and the PTI White base card too.  I added a few gems from Amazon to finish it off.

The second version has the reversed patterned papers.

I'm not sure which version I like better.
I know the plaid was easier to line up the image.

Spellbinders - Poinsettia Corner Christmas Card

 Happy Sunday!

Today, I have my 5th Christmas card to share.  This card uses Spellbinders - Poinsettia Corner Press Plate and is colored with Copic Markers.  This image uses the Spellbinders BetterPress System and metal poinsettia press plate image.  This plate image has really fine details and was a fun image to color.  I used Memento black ink which is ideal for Copic markers and PaperTrey ink white cardstock 4.25 x 5.5".

Copic Colors: R35, R37, R39, G40, G43, G46, E23, E25, E29

The image was printed in the corner of a 4.25 x 5.5" piece of cardstock. To create the box attached to the image, I cut 1" in from 2 sides and cut up to the image.  Then, I did some fussy cutting from the box around the outer edge of the image.  The sentiment is from a Spellbinders stamp set STP-023 "To You and Yours" which I bought several years ago.  The green mat (3.75 x 5") is Bazzill Ivy Cardstock and base card is PTI White cardstock. I added a Spellbinders Fashion Gold Embellishment to the center of the poinsettia to finish the card.

I will post my last 2024 card on Christmas Day.

Unity - Windowsill

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a card I made for a couple different occasions, get well and birthday, using Unity Stamp set - Windowsill.  The first version is the get well card I made for Mark's sister who broke her ankle.

A couple years ago, I put a large work table in my craftroom and used it for my home office.  Since I retired, I took out the computer monitors and turned it into a cardmaking workspace.  It has been working out so well.  I've been going in there for a couple hours almost everyday to make cards or go through all that I have collected over the years.  I actually stamped these Windowsill images last December for her birthday, but did not get around to coloring it.  I found the stamped images and actually colored it while I was talking on the phone.

The patterned papers are Pebble Walnut Grove.
Copic: BG11, BG70, BG72, BG75, E31, E33, E35, E50, E51
R29, YG61, YG65, YG68, W2, W3

Overall this image is just perfect for her, the fan because she is always hot (I can relate), she loves plants, books and she has an orange cat named Pumpkin.

I picked a couple patterned papers.  I saw a card layout on Unity show and tell page that had layered patterned papers with torn edges, so I took inspiration from that.  I tore the top and bottom edges of the image which really helped focus the image.  The layered it on the patterned papers.  The base card is PTI white cardstock.  I added "Sending You Love" sentiment which is from MFT Gathered With Love stamp set and a white bakers twine bow.

Close Up:

I made a second card as a birthday card for our niece who has a calico cat.  The Happy Birthday sentiment was a scrap I had on my table, Spellbinders Garden Favorite Sentiments is the set it is from.

The calico cat variation has Copic W7 and white chalk patches.

Unity - Coffee Queen Birthday

 Happy Saturday!

Today I have some birthday cards I made with Unity Stamp Set - Coffee Queen.
I started going through all my 6x6" patterned paper pads in my craftroom and consolidated them in one place.  I use to do this all the time...pick a paper with the colors and patterns I wanted to use for the stamp, then color.  Rather than coloring the image and trying to find a paper I liked.  It certainly makes it easier.

The first card uses aqua, cream and yellow, the patterned paper pad is Crate Paper DIY Shop.  I thought not only the colors were perfect but the flowers were also a great match for this image.  Next, I chose my Copic markers to match the colors in the papers.

Copic: Cup-BG11, BG34; Rim-Y02, Y08; Flower and Cream-W0, W2;
Leaf-YG61, YG63, YG67; Coffee-E77

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Spellbinders Garden Favorite Sentiments.
I cut a box around the sentiment then cut the cup out.

I chose 2 papers from the paper pad, a floral and a ledger page.  I cut the floral paper diagonally, so I could make 2 cards.  The ledger page was cut into 2 pieces 3x5".  The finished papered background is 3.75x5" and mounted on black cardstock 3.875x5.125".   I added some white bakers twine and mounted the image.  Base card is 4.25 x 5.5" white PaperTrey Ink cardstock.

Close Up:

For the second card, I chose a different paper pad
Echo Park For the Record 2, which changed the cup color and rim color.
Copic: Cup-BG70, BG72, BG75; Rim-R24, R29; Flower and Cream-W0, W2;
Leaf-YG61, YG63, YG67; Coffee-E77

This card I turned to be a tent card, 5.5" x 4.25".
