Fun Stampers Journey - Lakeside Birthday 2

 Happy Saturday!

Today, I second card to share using several retired stamps from Fun Stampers Journey "Lakeside".  The image is colored with Copic markers.   

I also used a couple background stamps.  FSJ "Script" background, I stamped on the PTI Spring Rain cardstock with Spring Rain ink.  On the PTI Chocolate cardstock I stamped the fishnet background from FSJ "Background Basics 2".

The Happy birthday is from PTI Birthday III Stamp set.  I had some cord twine laying on my desk, which I knotted and added to the front to finish the card.

Fun Stampers Journey - Lakeside Birthday

Today, I have a couple masculine birthday cards to share.  I used several retired stamps from Fun Stampers Journey, the main images are from FSJ "Lakeside".  The image is created with 3 separate stamps, the rocks and grasses in the forefront are separate stamps, and it is colored with Copic markers.   

I also used a couple background stamps.  FSJ "Script" background, I stamped on the PTI Spring Rain cardstock with Spring Rain ink.  On the PTI Chocolate cardstock I stamped the fishnet background from FSJ "Background Basics 2".

FSJ - Happy Couple

Happy Saturday!

Today we are attending a wedding reception.  Seems like a long time since the last wedding.  This is the card created using Fun Stampers Journey "Happy Couple" which Spellbinders had on clearance a year or so ago.

The image was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The image was layered on smokey gray cardstock and vellum.

Fun Stampers Journey - Party Animals

 Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a birthday card to share.  I made this one for my grand nephew who will be 7 years old next week.  Where does the time go?

This set is from Spellbinders - "Party Animals" which I found 

on clearance in May along with "Neon Sign".  

I thought they would go really well together to make a fun card.

I colored the animals with Copic Markers.  I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the animals and the message balloons.

Spellbinders - Nature Grown - Birthday

 
Happy Saturday,

Today I have a birthday card to share.  It uses a Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey set "Nature Grown" I bought last year.  It think this is a very versatile set, great for any occasion - birthday to sympathy.

I made a birthday card, which I plan to give to the guys on my birthday card this year.  The tree and sentiment is stamped in PTI Dark Chocolate ink.  The turquoise Ombre background is PTI Stormy Seas and Ocean Tide ink applied with blending brushes I found on Amazon for around $10, love the different sizes.

Spellbinders - Nature Grown - Congratulations

Happy Saturday,

Today, I have a second card I made using Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey - "Nature Grown".  This one is a Congratulations card I made for my brother-in law who accepted a new job in Georgia and will be leaving the snowy midwest.  

I used the color combination, Kraft, Fine Linen and Ocean Tides.  The snow is sparkly fluff which is adhered with glue.  I used a glue pen where I wanted snow under the trees and like embossing powder applied the fluff.  No heat set needed just press in the fluff and tap off the excess and allow to dry.

The sentiment is from Avery Elle "Loads of Wishes", a great greeting set which has just about every sentiment you might need.  I made a couple congratulations and a birthday card too.

Spellbinders- Geek Chic Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, I have the card I made for Mark this year.  It uses 3 sets from Spellbinders - Geek Chic, Grid Paper Stamp and sentiment Annual Celebration Stamp Sets.

I love this circuit board heart.  I embossed it with gold embossing powder like the traces on a printed circuit board.  I added some black Crystal drops for the components, like a microprocessor looks on a pcb.

Colors: Papertrey Ink White, Black and Blueberry Sky.

Spellbinders - Stay Sassy

Happy Saturday!

I'm so behind posting cards for this year!  

This is the birthday card I made for my niece in January.  It uses a Spellbinders set - Stay Sassy. For Christmas, she asked for a lot of leopard print things so I thought this image was perfect.  

I colored it with Copic markers.  This image is really lovely as stamped with a comic book feel.

I places a couple stamp and die orders last Fall and around New Years.  They were having clearance sales, so I have lots of new things to use.  

I just need to find some time to make cards!

Simon Says Stamp - Wild Beauty Birthday

Happy Saturday!

Last weekend, I taught a class for a women's event 

through church.  It was a fun get together to share our

hobbies and talents.  

This is one of 2 cards I made

for the event and the ladies had the opportunity to 

make one of each card.

This card uses a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, 

called Wild Beauty and the sentiment is from a set called 'Happy'.

Step 1 - Stamp the sentiment and flower outlines in black.

Step 2 - Stamp the flowers in Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice

and Spring Rain.

Step 3 - The 3 stems were drawn with a black multi-liner pen 

and white centers were added to the left and middle flower 

with white gel pen.

Step 4 - Sequin detail was added to the base of the flowers.

It turned out to be a fun card to introduce the ladies

to 2-step stamping, especially since some had never stamped before.  

The clear stamps really made it easy for beginners.  

It was a fun project and night of crafts and learning.

My Interpretation:

Today, I used a retired set from Fun Stampers Journey - Nautical View.  There is a beautiful lighthouse in this set too I hope to use soon.  I also tried out a hot trend using a Tim Holtz burlap stencil and white embossing paste.  A fun technique to add some texture to your project.

Sketch Saturday Challenge #335

Sketch #335:

This is the card which inspired the sketch.  It was my homebound card ministry from June. 

The technique is one I saw used by a challenge winner of Sketch Saturday back in June also - Calypso.  She has a bit of instruction in her post.

It used a painters tape technique that I hadn't seen before.  It probably has been around for ages, but it was new to me.  You ink up the sticky side of painters tape and lay it down, pressing in and then removing the tape.  I had investigated the technique a bit more before trying it and most people use glossy paper, so the tape comes off easier.  

I used PTI White cardstock, not glossy.  It created a lovely textured background, kind of like stucco.  I found if you have lots of ink on the sticky side of the tape, it is not a problem using normal cardstock.  

Since I made 15 or so of this card for homebound, some summer birthdays and a few any occasion ones too...I wasn't as careful with coverage the more I made. There was some tearing when removing the tape - but not a problem, more texture right?  I used a sponge to fill in some color.  It worked out great.
