Valentine - Washi Tape

Hi All,

Today, I have this years Valentine going out to family and homebound this week.  I was excited to use Washi tape for the first time.  I won this trio of Washi tape in a challenge at Marker Pop back in November.  They have an awesome selection, however when I chose my 3 rolls I went for a set since I had never used it before.

The grid paper stamp is from Taylored Expressions.  The verse is from Biblical Impressions "And His Name" one of my favorite sheets of scripture stampsI've gotten a lot of use out of them this last year.

The base cardstock is PaperTrey Ink White.  The heart accent is a Cricut cut out, then I added a gemI made 25 of these cards in only a couple hours.  Using the Cricut to cut out the hearts all at once was a huge time saver.  How did I get along without the Cricut?

The layout was inspired by Retro Sketches #45 - Love their CAS sketches.

The Craft's Meow - Hope Blooms

Today, I have a sympathy card to share.  I created it for my friend Karen, her dad passed away suddenly Monday.  The image and sentiment are from The Craft's Meow - Hope Blooms.  The papers are TAC "Catelynne" available at RRD.
I stamped the flower on the green patterned paper with Memento ink and then added come copic marker, YG95, YG97.  The petals were stamped on X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copics R32, R35, R37. The colored image was cut out and added to the green cardstock.  The Kraft cardstock is from PTI.
I really liked the design of this card, the sentiment could be anything, so I made a Birthday Card too for a friend at church. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Biblical Impressions.

Biblical Impressions - Stamping

Happy Saturday!

Here is what I came up with this morning.  The stamping background is from Biblical Impressions.

Every once in awhile I go through my stamps and and pick out some that I haven't used yet.  This one has been on my list since last Fall.  It lists all the things I love about stamping and if you are reading this you probably love these things too.

I stamped the background with Palette Noir ink on PTI white cardstock.
Then I used a PTI die - hearts to punch the heart window. I sponged the heart cut out with PTI Pure Poppy ink and adhered to the back flap of the card with pop dots so when closed it all lines up and is one layer.
This is the inside of the card.  I added a PTI Pure Poppy button with bakers twine to the heart with a glue dot.
Don't you think this is a simple a fun card for a friend who is a stamper :)

Biblical Impressions - Cattails

Happy Sunday!

I really was able to get a lot of cards done this weekend.  Here is another guy card, great for a birthday.

This stamp is from Biblical Impressions - Cattails.  I sponged the background with PTI inks Kraft, Enchanted Evening and Spring Moss.  The cardstock was white.  Then I stamped the cattails in the lower right corner.
I colored the cattails with colored pencil.

The cattails are stamped again on the the kraft cardstock.  The image is layered on PTI Enchanted Evening cardstock.  Hemp cord was added to the image and added to the base card with pop dots, lining up the two images so they look continuous.

I have to say I'm so thankful my photo studio is working again.  I was having so much trouble with the lighting in the last few months.  A couple new 'day light' lights seems to have helped tremendously.

Biblical Impressions: Cardinal

Happy Sunday!

I have a Biblical Impressions image to share today.  I've been wanting to use this image for awhile.  I bought it because it reminded me of my mother-in-law. The first Christmas I spent with Mark's family, many years ago now, was in Ohio at his mothers house.  Her tree was decorated with red cardinals - it was SO striking.  So this is her birthday card, which is next Saturday. I know she will love it.

It was an image on a full plate I bought called "Stocking". It has some great Christmas and winter images. I hope to use the ornaments on the same plate soon.

The "pine sprig" is from a different plate called "landscape".  I did find this one individually #38916 Pine Sprig $2.75.
Supplies -- Biblical Impressions Cardinal, PTI Pure Poppy and Kraft cardstock, Bazzill Salsa Verde cardstock, Copic XPress It cardstock, Copic Markers, Copic Opaque white (snow), Memento Black ink, Palette Burnt Umber ink.

Copic Colors: R22, R24, R29, R59, YG93, YG95, YG97, E55, E57, E59, W-1

Today, I have another post for the Amber Ink Design Team.  I'm featuring an image from Amber's "Love Bunny" line called "Kiss-Kiss - Fluffy Bottoms".  Love it!

Another perfect image, this one for my sister's anniversary card December 15th!  I'm getting so much done.  I'm ahead - Yay!
I got out my Coluzzle templates - I had a funky heart shape that I think is the perfect background.  The fluffy tails were painted with Copic Opaque White.  The sentiment is from Biblical Impressions.

Supplies -- Amber Ink "Love Bunny - Kiss Kiss - Fluffy Bottoms", Biblical Impressions "Just For You", PTI Kraft cardstock, Bazzill Quartz, Coluzzle Heart template, Copic Opaque White, Kai mini scissors, Noir Palette ink.

Biblical Impressions: Every Good

Happy Sunday,

Today, I have a simple card which is actually made from a left over scrap.  This is the negative of the Shapeabilities Grommet Tags I used in my November 7th MRO Friends post.  The die leaves a great window shape, perfect for a verse or sentiment.

The verse is from Biblical Impressions "Every Good" ($2.75).  Stamped with Burnt Umber Palette ink.

I've had this ribbon for quite a long time and haven't used it until now.  It is from May Arts.   I haven't created a card around a ribbon in awhile.

I pulled the cardstock colors from the ribbon, PTI Kraft, Terracotta Tile, Spring Moss.  The button is also from PTI - Fine Linen Vintage buttons and rustic cream button twine too.

Hope you enjoyed today's card!
Blessings to you...

Biblical Impressions: Scripture

Happy Sunday!

I mentioned the service project at church for our missionaries several weeks ago.  In my first Biblical Impressions post "Hope Love", I shared the card for the missionaries care packages.
I wanted to share one of the projects.  I thought this was an amazing idea.  We called it {30 Days of Encouragement}.

The idea was to create a package of cards, 30, with encouraging scripture on one side.  On the other side, the blank side, a personal message of encouragement or prayer or thank you was written during our service activity.  30 days worth of encouragement a new card, new prayer, new scripture each day.

This was actually how I was recruited to help with this service project - my husband came home and asked if I would cut out the cards using my Nestabilities dies. I said sure.

Little did I know that they wanted 30 for each missionary and we were creating care packages for 12 missionaries.  360 cards - whew.

It went fast actually with my Grand Calibur.  I chose 6 dies and cut 2 sheets of cardstock at a time.  This actually cut and embossed at the same time with one run through the machine.  Praise God!

Then I chose 30 different scripture verses.  Biblical Impressions has whole sheets of amazing scripture verses, different fonts, different translations for a great variety.  They were really perfect.  Again Praise God!
This project was very well received and the personal messages written on the back of each card were truly amazing.  Turned out better than we could have ever imagined.  Praise God!

I packaged them using a clear envelope and made a simple header with kraft cardstock (4.25 x 4.5"). The resealable end of the envelope is at the bottom so it can be opened and the cards can be taken out without removing the header. I punched 2 holes through the folded header and bottom of the envelope about 1/2" in and tied it all together with a ribbon.

I really loved this project.  My prayer is that the missionaries are uplifted by this personalized and prayer filled gift from those who created their care package.

Blessings this week...

Biblical Impressions: Pumpkin Patch

Happy Sunday,

The Biblical Impressions image I'm featuring today is called Pumpkin Patch.  Patterned papers are from the best of K&Company paper stack.

I was asked how the stitching was done on my Oct 12th post, so I created this card to show stitching.

I use a foam mat (yellow), paper piercer and plastic mesh canvas.  This was a tip I picked up from an angel several years ago.
I line up the mesh with my cardstock.
Then I pierced the cardstock using the mesh to guide my spacing.
This is a nice look.
Or add thread.
Instead of stitching you could also use this technique to create a dot border using a gel pen.
Copic: YR15, YR18, YR24, YG93, YG95, YG97, E55, E57, E59
Memento black ink, Pastel and Earth Tone Chalks

Hope you enjoy today's card.
Happy Sweetest Day!

Biblical Impressions: Faith Hope

Hello All,

Today I'm featuring a set from Biblical Impressions called Faith Hope.  I love this set!  Ironically, it has taken me 7+ years to use it.  It was one of the last stamps I bought from Biblical before signing up with The Angel Company.  Last week I mounted it and used it!  What a great feeling.

This card was designed for a service project coming up at my church in October.  We will be creating care packages for the 12 missionary families we support around the world.  These cards will be signed by all who create the care packages.

I felt this set was perfect to thank them for their commitment and hard work spreading the gospel.  Missionary work is such a labor of Love.  It is a process which starts with planting seeds.  My hope is this card will be an encouragement as they interact with people in all stages of the process.

This is a 4" x 8" card.  The colored images were cut out and distressed using palette inks and a sponge then popped using pop dots.  Faux stitching was added using the ScorPal and ScorBog.  The card was finished with a twine bow.

Supplies -- BI Faith Hope; Cardstock: Copic X-press It, Bazzill Yam, Jacaranda, Saguaro; Pastel Chalks, Palette Burnt Umber and Cognac inks, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, ScorBug, Twine, Copic Markers

Copic colors:
Pot: YR15, YR18, YR24
Foliage: YG93, YG95, YG97
Fruit: B23, V17
Water: B21, B23
Sun: Y17, YR24
Ground: E55, E57, E59
Frame: YG97

Next week, I will be sharing a card using the lighthouse image from the same sheet.

Biblical Impressions stamps are deep impression red rubber images (rubber only no mounting foam).  See the links on the right side bar, Biblical Impressions, Eureka, QRK Stampede, 3 stamps companies in one, over 10,000 images.  A sheet of images are $24.95, the single image Faith Hope is $8.50.
