Christmas Cards 2013

Hello All,

Today, I have this year's Christmas cards to show, well the prototype cards.  So happy to have them finished, addressed and ready to mail.  They were actually mailed over the weekend.

I made 3 cards this year.  They are all similar layout, but different images and colors so I was able to use cardstock I had on hand.  The images are pre-colored, since I was making so many - 82 total.

The first used an image and verse from Doodle Pantry - Blessed ChristmasThe cardstock is PTI Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening.  The embossed panel is the image is impression plate called scallops and circles from Taylored Expressions.  I could not find it in their store anymore.  I actually used a different embossing folder for the cards I sent - Goosebumpz "Chain", which looked like burlap fabric to me.  I made 34 of this version.
Card 2 used an image from Deedee Designs - Christmas Cardinal.  The cardstock is PTI Pure Poppy.  The embossing folder shown is Cuttlebug twigs.  The actual folder I used for the cards I sent was Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes.  The embossed panel looked more like the side of a barn.  I made 24 of this type.
Card 3 used an image from Clear Dollar Stamps called Paper Christmas Trees.  CDS went out of business a couple months ago.  The embossing folder is Cuttlebug Mistletoe. Love this folder.  Cardstock is PTI Ripe Avocado.  I made 24 of this one too.

Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed Christmas!

Doodle Pantry - He Is Risen

Happy Easter!

Today, I have the Easter card I sent to my family and the homebound ministry.  This image is from Doodle Pantry and is called He Is Risen.

He is Risen COLOR plus
I have the uncolored images too, however was in a bit of a pinch for time this year, so I used the pre-colored image and the coordinating digital papers too.  We got a new laser printer, so I had to try out printing in color.  It is nice to be able to print the digital papers myself and the pre-colored image is beautifully done.  The patterned paper was printed on normal copy paper.

The "Christ is Risen" sentiment is from this set also.  I combined the two images in Photoshop, then saved it out as a new .png file.  I arranged 6 images per page in Microsoft Word and printed it on heavier cardstock.

Inside, I used the "Love's redeeming work is done" and "Happy Resurrection Sunday" digis to create the verse.

Supplies --
Image: Doodle Pantry "He Is Risen"
Patterned paper: Doodle Pantry "He is Risen" digi papers
Cardstock: PTI Kraft and Chocolate, X-Press It
Natural Jute Ribbon
Sewing machine with white thread

Doodle Pantry - Rose Duo

Today, I'm playing along with another sketch challenge.  This one is from Sweet Sunday. I used a digi from Doodle Pantry so I can enter into their Challenge #21, use a Doodle Pantry image.  The Sweet Sunday challenge ends March 23rd and the Doodle Pantry challenge ends the 24th, if you would like to play along.  Doodle Pantry offers free digis if you don't have any of their images. Love that!  Check out their Freebies page.

The Doodle Pantry image I used is one I bought last Fall.  It is about time I used it!!  It is in their bargain basket "Rose Duo".  Here is the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - great layout!

This also gave me the opportunity to use a new spring paper from My Mind's Eye "Dolled Up".
The image is colored with Copic markers cut out and mounted on a die cut circle. I had hoped to create the one-piece banner using Label 18 as the bottom edge but it just didn't happen like I had envisioned, so I settled for two pieces.  {Sigh}  Perhaps another day I can get it to work.

Supplies --
Image: Doodle Pantry Rose Duo
Designer Paper:  My Mind's Eye Dolled Up
Cardstock: PTI Soft Stone, Bazzill Raspberry Splash
Tools: Nestabilities Label 18 and standard circles
Copic Colors: R32, R35, R37, G12, G21, G23, E70, E74
