DDH11 Challenge: Black and White ~ Week 2

It is week 2 of our Black and White Challenge.  Paula-Kay is our hostess on the DDH blog.  We are also having a Grand Opening Celebration, each day this week we will have posts on DDH so be sure to check in every day to see more inspiration.

This week, I chose the black and white dots paper from DDH Black and White II, which is a FREE DDH download paper!  The image is Wild Animals, which is a new DDH.

Supplies -- DDH Wild Animals, Papers: Black cardstock, Date Swirl cardstock, DDH Black and White II FREE download, Copics [N1, N3, N4, N7].

DDH9 Challenge: Handmade Flowers ~ Week 1

Ready for a NEW Challenge??

Our NEW Challenge is Handmade Flowers. Michelle is our hostess for the next 2 weeks on the DDH blog.

I used a 3/4" and 5/8" circle punch to create my flower.  The paper used is a DDH FREE download Black and White II.  I used a pinched circle flower technique - if you'd like to see a video on how it is done - click HERE.  Heather Scott made this fabulous video.  I added a second layer (5/8" punch) to make my flower fuller. 

The image is DDH Swans.  This is a great image for an anniversary or wedding card. I colored the white floss with Copics to match the cardstock.

Supplies-- Digi: DDH Swans, Papers: DDH Black and White II, Raven, Whirlpool, Copics: N1, N4, B000, BG10, Bone Floss, Buttons, White Souffle pen, 5/8" punch, 3/4" punch.

Next week I will have another card with a flower made of ribbon.

Card a day in May ~ Week 4

Happy Sunday!

It is week 4 already and here is our 4th Sketch...

This is a great sketch!  Love how the scallop is labeled 3/4" - so I used a punch and pieced each circle to make the scallop edge.  I used Sew Thankful this week and also a FREE black and white download paper from DDH.

The image is stamped on a circle cut and embossed with a Nestabilities Circle die.  My husband got me a Grand Calibur for my birthday (he is also letting me use it before my birthday - what a sweetie).  He wanted me to try it - Really he did.  I LOVE it!  This new design is SO much easier to use (no muscles required to get the sandwich started with this design - no shooting out at the other end) and the cutting and embossing is so much better.  The pressure applied is more evenly distributed, plus supported underneath, giving a better cut and it doesn't distort the Impressibilities either!  Huge HUGE design improvements.

Lastly, finished it off with a white ribbon and bow (a deviation from the sketch).
