Spellbinders - Especially For You

Happy Saturday!

Today I have a card I made for a friend going through chemo, so I wanted something lovely, elegant and feminine.  I used the glimmer Hot Foil set from Spellbinders - Especially For You. This set is a combination of hot foil plates and dies.  I used gold foil for the "For You" plate then used the flower and foliage dies in the set to add some color.

The base card and flowers are PTI Sweet Blush and the foliage is PTI Spring Moss. The ribbon is some crushed white ribbon I had from AMuse.

A Day For Daisies - A Special Flower

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a birthday card for our grand-niece to share.  It uses a digital image from a Day for Daisies - A Special Flower.  I'm excited to say A Day For Daisies web-shop is back up.  I had posted in May and it was down for maintenance.

I colored the image with Copic markers and paired it with Basic Grey "Kneehighs" patterned papers I found in the cupboard.

Hot Foil - Butterfly Birthday

 Happy Saturday!

Today, I have another birthday card I made with 2 Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil plates - Butterflies and Birthday Hugs & Wishes.

This card is my version of a card I saw using the Glimmer Butterflies set online.
I watched a lot of YouTube videos to learn how to use the Hot Foil Machine, before diving in.

The videos really paid off.  I was able to get great results right away.  It also gave me a list of items I needed...like the best cardstock to use, best cutter for foil and tips for lining up the foil plate so it is straight.  Plus, it featured these 2 plates which I ended up buying so I could make this card.

I used a variety of foils - Spellbound 4 pack

The machine came with gold and silver.  I added "skybright" which is a light blue also.

The white cardstock is Hammermill 110lb weight cardstock.
